In Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC, you’ll eventually be told to whip up the Bad Dreams Cruller — a special donut with very particular flavor stats. You’ll need the high-powered Hyper Berries to get there, and this pops up during Hyperspace Mission 11 as a main story step.
If you’re over testing berry combos one by one, here are a few Bad Dreams Cruller recipes that reliably meet the requirements.
Bad Dreams Cruller recipe in Pokémon Legends: Z-A — Mega Dimension
Corbeau gives you the recipe in dialogue, but if you missed the numbers, the donut needs:
- 310 points in sweet
- 310 points in sour
- 100 points in spicy
- 40 points in bitter
- 40 points in fresh
To actually make it, tell Ansha you want to try the special donut (it should be the first option). You can’t craft this ahead of time — the mission also hands you a required special ingredient from Corbeau.
Plenty of lineups will hit those numbers, but a common foundation many players use looks like this:
- 1 Hyper Coba Berry
- 3 Hyper Tanga Berries
- 3 Hyper Kasib Berries
From there, round things out with a berry that supplies the remaining bitter and fresh points, like a Hyper Yache Berry, Hyper Kelpsy Berry, or Hyper Sitrus Berry. You’ll know the donut qualifies when little checkmarks appear under each flavor on the chart in the bottom-right.
Short on Hyper Tanga and Kasib (they can be finicky to track down)? Try this alternative that uses fewer of them:
- 1 Hyper Qualot Berry
- 1 Hyper Chople Berry
- 1 Hyper Shuca Berry
- 1 Hyper Coba Berry
- 2 Hyper Tanga Berries
- 2 Hyper Kasib Berries

How to find more Hyper Berries in Pokémon Legends: Z-A — Mega Dimension
Hyper Berries are mostly RNG. You’ll pick them up by diving into Hyperspace portals and smashing the floating Poké Balls. The grind can be real, but these tips help speed things up:
- Bring a Pokémon that can fly to easily pop out-of-reach Poké Balls.
- Clear all three objectives in each Hyperspace pocket to spawn the big golden Bonus Ball — it drops a pile of berries.
- Anecdotally, berries that appear later in the ingredient list seem to show up more often in higher-star portals. For instance, Hyper Kasib Berries tended to drop quickly from four-star portals, though your luck may vary.
If you burn through something specific, treat it as a heads-up for future bakes — several later donuts also want strict flavor totals. Keeping a small stash of each Hyper Berry on hand will save you time.
