Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 just rolled out its free “Thank You” update to celebrate its Game of the Year win at The Game Awards. The patch drops a fresh zone to explore, new music, tougher optional bosses, a proper photo mode, and a handful of smart quality-of-life tweaks.
You won’t see the new area right away, though—you’ll need to push the story forward and unlock a specific Esquie skill first. Here’s how to get in.
How to start the “Thank You” update in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
To reach Verso’s Draft (the new zone), make sure you’ve met these requirements:
- Reach Act 3
- Unlock Esquie’s underwater ability (Relationship level 6 with Esquie)
Once you’ve checked those off, open the Continent map and pan to the bottom-right. Look for a new island just southeast of Lumiere—that’s Verso’s Draft.

What to expect from the “Thank You” update
This update packs in a lot of free content alongside the new island. Here’s what you’ll find:
- Four additional boss encounters in the paintings inside the Endless Tower
- Photo mode
- New costumes
- New luminas and weapons
- The Old Key quest item appears in the final area (previously prologue-only)
- Lumina Sets so you can save and swap lumina loadouts
- New tracks by composer Lorien Testard
There are also expanded localization options and a round of quality-of-life improvements across all platforms. For the full rundown, check the patch notes on Steam:
