What are snow globes in Fallout: New Vegas?

Snow globes in Fallout: New Vegas are the fastest way to stack caps without stripping every raider camp bare. Each one sells for 2,000 caps, which adds up fast if you track down the full set. There are seven in the base game and four more tucked away in the DLCs.

Base-game snow globes need to be sold to the robot Jane on the top floor of the Lucky 38, inside Mr. House’s suite. If you haven’t been up there yet, head to the Strip and talk to Victor outside the Lucky 38 — he’ll take you straight in. DLC snow globes pay out automatically the moment you pick them up.

Every Mojave Wasteland snow globe location in Fallout: New Vegas

These first seven are all in the Mojave, no add-ons needed. They’re generally easier to grab, and one of them is right in the Lucky 38 — perfect for a quick payout the first time you reach the Strip.

    Goodsprings snow globe

Head to Goodsprings Cemetery on the north side of town, up the little hill by the water tower. It’s on the ground among the graves. Watch out for the bugs.

    Hoover Dam snow globe

Fast travel to Hoover Dam on the far east side of the map. The visitor center entrance is right by the waypoint. Go inside and you’ll see the snow globe sitting on the front counter.

    Nellis AFB snow globe

Go to Nellis Air Force Base in the northeast. Stand with your back to Pearl’s Barracks and look at the three arched-roof container buildings. Enter the rightmost one, the Boomer Museum. The globe’s on a table to the right as you walk in.

    Mt. Charleston snow globe

Travel to Jacobstown in the northwest. Enter the big wooden Jacobstown Lodge through the front door and snag the globe off the reception desk.

    Mormon Fort snow globe

In Freeside, north of the Strip, head into the Old Mormon Fort. If you arrive via the North Gate, it’ll be on your left. Inside, go to the tower in the southwest corner, climb to the top floor, and grab the globe from a cabinet.

    The Strip snow globe

Enter the Strip via the North Gate and keep moving forward through the next gates until you reach the section with the big Vault 21 sign. Go into the Vault 21 gift shop.

Follow the corridor until it forks, then go left into the big room with the Blackjack table. Take the door on the left (east side), walk straight down the hallway, and stop before the corner. The globe is in Sarah’s room — it’s the last door on the left and it’s locked.

    • Pick the lock (Lockpick 50).
    • Pickpocket Sarah to get the key.
    • Kill Sarah for the key (not recommended — big Karma hit).

    Lucky 38 snow globe

Go to the Lucky 38 on the Strip. If you haven’t met Mr. House yet, speak to Victor and he’ll usher you in. After that meeting, talk to Victor again and ask to visit the cocktail lounge. Circle behind the bar — the globe is tucked behind the tap and very easy to miss.

Every DLC snow globe location in Fallout: New Vegas

These four live on expansion maps (Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road). They’re a little trickier to reach than the Mojave set, but they pay out as soon as you pick them up.

Sierra Madre snow globe (Dead Money DLC)

Start the “Sierra Madre Grand Opening!” quest to enter the Sierra Madre. Progress until you can reach Salida del Sol (the eastern district). This area’s a maze — you’ll need to move through interiors and rooftops to get there.

With your back to the Salida del Sol south entrance, walk to the old fountain, turn right, and follow the road. At the crossroads with a vending machine straight ahead, turn left and keep going. At the end of the path, take the green door at the top of the dim stairway with “Where are we” scrawled on the wall.

Inside the Salida del Sol House, go downstairs to the left and exit through the hole in the wall. Follow the rubble-filled road to a staircase, go up, and step onto the roof to the left (don’t go inside). Keep left across the rooftops, cross to the opposite side of the street at the first chance, and look for another hole in a wall on your left. The globe is in that room.

Zion National Park snow globe (Honest Hearts DLC)

Begin the “Happy Trails Expedition” to unlock Zion Canyon. In the northwest of the map, find the general store just south of the Zion Ranger Station. The globe’s in the closet behind the counter.

Big MT snow globe (Old World Blues DLC)

Start “Midnight Science Fiction Feature!” to travel to Big MT. In the northwest of the map, enter the X-17 Meteorological Station — the door’s down in the gorge with the red crystals. Inside the large hangar, check the smaller control room in the center for the globe.

Lonesome Road snow globe (Lonesome Road DLC)

Begin “The Reunion” to enter the Divide. In the southeast corner of the map, beneath the broken highway, head into the remains of the Junction 7 rest stop. Go upstairs and open the wooden cabinet to find the last snow globe.
