Tracking down Grounded 2’s wolf spider locations feels a lot like playing hide-and-seek with a nightmare. You need them for some of the strongest gear in the yard, but they’re sneaky, and when you finally bump into one… yeah, it’s not pleasant.
Below is where to find wolf spiders in Grounded 2 and what actually works when it’s time to fight them.
Update (Jan. 30): The Toxic Tangle update added more wolf spider spawn points.
Where to find wolf spiders in Grounded 2
There are 10 wolf spider locations in Grounded 2, with five of those added in the Toxic Tangle update:
- Central north of the Snackbar region, around the glass bottles.
- At the map’s far southwestern edge, behind the oak tree.
- Along the eastern side of the picnic table.
- In the Ceremony region, near the terrarium.
- In the flower beds around the statue.
- Near the Fairy House landmark in the Veggie Garden (the same place you visit for a ladybug egg).
- On the wall dividing the Veggie Garden and the Grass Games region, along a common approach path into the garden.
- On the wall between the Greenhouse and the Statue.
- On the stool that sits level with the greenhouse roof in the Greenhouse region (climb the hose and vine inside the greenhouse to reach it).
- Down in the ditches at the southwestern end of the Pumpkin Patch, near the pumpkin with the hot dog on it. They often sit inside the hollow pumpkins at ground level, so they’re easy to miss at first glance.
Most of these are straightforward to reach, with the statue area requiring a bit more wandering. Some players report not seeing a wolf spider in the flower bed while searching for a way into the rose garden ranger station—either it’s tucked away or not spawning consistently.
There’s also supposed to be one in the hedge behind the Park Bench ranger station. Even after combing the tunnels and climbing to the canopy, it can be hard to spot, so treat it as a “keep your guard up” area rather than a reliable farming route.
Don’t go hunting until you’re wearing a full set of tier-two armor (mixed sets are fine) and carrying a solid weapon. Wolf spiders are tier-three threats, and they hit like it.
How to beat wolf spiders in Grounded 2
Wolf spiders are weak to spicy damage. You can craft spicy weapons using candy chunks and Bombardier Bug boiling glands. For a first kill, you can also snag 15 spicy arrows from the Fire Pit ranger station—enough to drop one spider. If you’re stuck with a tier-one bow, upgrade it with brittle whetstone so each shot actually hurts.
Build a smoothie station and brew a scorpion smoothie beforehand. Wolf spider attacks inflict poison, and the antivenom effect helps keep you upright.
The easiest fights are around the picnic table and the terrarium, where there’s plenty of room to move without getting cornered.
Stick with spicy arrows or the scorching orb so you can keep your distance. Hop off your buggy, tag the spider to grab aggro, then let the buggy soak some hits while you pepper in shots. If the spider turns on you, dodge back or strafe to avoid its lunges, then fire again as it recovers.
When it goes down, you’ll pull a grab bag of parts—fangs, venom, chunks—that show up in late-game recipes. That includes the wolf spider armor set (a favorite for rogue-style builds), a tier-three bow, and arrows that apply poison.
