In Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC, you can track down the mythical Zeraora and even Mega Evolve it — but only after knocking out a few tucked-away steps. Like other special encounters in this expansion, you’ll end up baking a very specific donut to reach it, and the game doesn’t exactly spell that out.
Zeraora ties into Side Mission EX3, “Raging Lightning,” which doesn’t formally kick off until you’ve made its donut.
Here’s how to unlock the Zeraora fight and the recipe for the Plasma-Glazed Donut.
How to get Zeraora in Pokémon Legends: Z-A — Mega Dimension
There are several prerequisites here, and many won’t appear as map markers. Clear these first:
- Finish Hyperspace Mission 12 (catch Rayquaza and complete the DLC story).
- Catch Diancie as Special Mission EX1. Claim the Diancite via Mystery Gift, then start the quest at the Looker Bureau.
- Catch Mewtwo as Special Mission EX2. Claim Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y via Mystery Gift, then ride the elevator to B3F in Lysandre Café to wrap the mission.
With those done, head to Racine Construction in the southeast (where Canari usually is). Talk to Tarragon and buy a Canari Bread for $1,300. You can only buy one per day.
Now for the “how would anyone guess this?” bit: take that bread up to the roof in Vert Sector 3. You should find a boy up there if you’ve met the requirements above.

He’ll offer a trade. Give him the Canari Bread and he’ll hand over Popping Candy. Return to Hotel Z and talk to Ansha. She’ll want a taste, and that sparks an idea for a new donut recipe.
Once you craft the Plasma-Glazed Donut (details below), a portal will open for a fight against a Rogue Mega Zeraora — same flow as the other donut-locked legendaries. Win the battle to catch Zeraora and receive its Mega Stone. The catch is guaranteed, so toss whichever Poké Ball you like.
Plasma-Glazed Donut recipe in Pokémon Legends: Z-A — Mega Dimension
This donut needs the following flavor totals:
- 40 Sweet
- 200 Spicy
- 400 Sour
- 280 Bitter
- 40 Fresh
Yep — that’s a gnarly spread.
As with the other special donuts, you must first unlock the recipe and tell Ansha you specifically want to make this donut. When picking berries, watch for the small checkmarks that appear as you meet each flavor threshold.

Plenty of berry mixes will work, but this combo hits every target:
- 1 Hyper Haban Berry
- 3 Hyper Babiri Berries
- 1 Hyper Chilan Berry
- 3 Hyper Roseli Berries
By this stage, you should have a deep berry stash. If you’re short on anything above, jump into higher-level portals (four- or five-star). Berries near the bottom of the list tend to show up more in those, so make sure you’re actually exploring and cracking Poké Balls in high-tier portals instead of sticking to low-level ones.
