Eyes of Tomorrow is the Gjallarhorn of Destiny 2: Beyond Light

There’s a brand new exotic rocket launcher that’s gaining some popularity in Destiny 2: Beyond Light. It’s none other than the Eyes of Tomorrow and players are already comparing it to the Gjallarhorn from Destiny 1. Here’s our guide to help you get it.

Note: For more information, check out our Destiny 2: Beyond Light guides and features hub. Likewise, please be reminded that this guide contains minor spoilers.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light – Getting the Eyes of Tomorrow, the expansion’s Gjallarhorn

The Eyes of Tomorrow can be found in Destiny 2: Beyond Light‘s Deep Stone Crypt raid. However, it only drops from the last encounter, a boss fight against Taniks, the Abomination.

The thing is, this boss fight was difficult during contest mode. Now, though, you can quickly breeze through it with a competent fireteam. Just make sure everyone’s 1240 power level or higher so that the mobs don’t hurt as much.

You can learn more about the encounter in our Taniks boss fight guide. Once you’ve mastered the mechanics, or if you want to speed things up, you can also try an alternative strategy. This one involves shooting four thrusters and banking all four nuclear cores at the same time. This leads to an extended DPS phase, allowing your team to bring him down to final stand with ease.

The Eyes of Tomorrow exotic rocket launcher is just a random drop that pops up from the reward box after killing the boss. It doesn’t require anything except a lot of luck.

I’ve seen LFG randoms get it on their second or third clears which means they’ve got RNGesus on their side.  But, if you’ve got terrible luck (i.e., it took you months before getting Anarchy or One Thousand Voices), then pray that you’ll be lucky this time around.

Note: I’ve heard of players deleting their characters and remaking them just to rerun Deep Stone Crypt and Taniks for the loot. Still, you might be better off just waiting each weekly reset.

Destiny 2 Beyond Light Eyes Of Tomorrow Exotic Gjallarhorn 1

The Eyes of Tomorrow exotic has the Solar element and it has the following perks:

  • Eyes on All – The weapon can track and fire at multiple targets simultaneously (think Wardcliff Coil or Gjallarhorn).
  • Adaptive Ordnance – Killing four or more enemies in a single volley increases the damage of the next volley.

Both perks make the Eyes of Tomorrow an absolutely devastating weapon. Each volley fires multiple warheads that seek out targets. If there’s one target, like a boss, all missiles will hit the same one. Now, if you managed to kill four mobs or more, that next volley will be even deadlier.
