A live service game has to constantly change in order to meet the needs of the players. That is the case for an upcoming patch to the popular Call of Duty: Warzone. In the battle royale, much of the current meta has revolved around overpowered DMR 14 loadouts. However, that is set to change once Raven Software takes aim at balancing the playing field. The upcoming patch will nerf the likes of the DMR 14, the MAC-10 SMG, and the dual-wielded Diamatti pistols among others.
Seeing that the meta has been skewing in a one-sided fashion since that start of the season in December, a change had to happen at some point. Thankfully, the changes are coming up in the near future. The developers are back at it after a well-deserved break over the holiday period.
It is important to note that these changes will only affect the guns in Call of Duty: Warzone. Those firearms will be unaffected in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Don’t fret! We’ve heard you and a balance update is coming soon to address concerns about the DMR 14, Type 63, Mac 10, and dual pistols. ⚖️⏲️

While the meta took some time to form, problems were to be expected right from the start. Balance is a hard thing to achieve for a competitive game. However, it is even harder when you throw over 30 new weapons into the game at the same time. Expect even more buffs and nerfs with any new Call of Duty: Warzone patch.
As for the actual details of the upcoming patch for Call of Duty: Warzone, Raven has not shared much. However, the new update will move the weekly playlist rotations to Thursdays from Tuesdays. Seeing that updates usually drop alongside the rotations, it is likely we will have more information by then.
This is not the first time that bugs have affected the Call of Duty: Warzone experience. The infinite stim glitch caused plenty of grief, while invisible helicopters wreaked havoc in Verdansk. At least the weapons will be more balanced moving forward.
