FIFA 21 Team of the Year Start Date: When TOTY Starts

Guides

Team of the Year is one of the biggest promos of the year in every FIFA game due to it being when the best and most expensive players are unleashed on the game. While the Ballon D’Or hasn’t been handed out this year due to the global pandemic, the promo based on it will return once more in FIFA 21. If you’re trying to prepare your club for it, here’s what you need to know about what the Team of the Year start date is in FIFA 21.

It’s already coming out later than usual, with voting only beginning this week, but it won’t be far away.

What the Team of the Year Start Date Is in FIFA 21

While EA Sports hasn’t revealed the final date, it’s easy to narrow it down to one of two. First off, it won’t be before Jan. 18, since that’s the date the voting closes, as you can see from the quote from EA’s site.

Choose the best 11 players of the last 12 months of football before voting closes on January 18, and your vote will count towards the EA SPORTS FIFA 21 Team of the Year!

Therefore, the Team of the Year start date will be Friday, Jan. 22 at the earliest, which would fit with the standard FIFA 21 promo schedule. However, it can be different for TOTY, where EA Sports often releases the squad in parts, starting with the attackers or defenders.

If they choose that option, the Team of the Year start date will likely be Monday, Jan. 25, allowing the full squad to be released on the following Friday, as it usually would be.

We will be sure to confirm here as soon as the final date is revealed, so be sure to check back with us.

That’s it for what you need to know about what the Team of the Year start date is in FIFA 21. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to check out our wiki guide or search for Twinfinite.
