Overwatch League Announces 2021 Schedule, $4.25M Prize Pool – The Esports Observer

The Overwatch League will officially kick off its 2021 season on April 16. As part of its ongoing exclusive deal, all matches will be broadcast on YouTube, with additional viewing options on the OWL website and app.

The 2021 OWL season will also feature a $4.25M USD total prize pool, with the Grand Final winner earning $1.5M.

The season will consist of 208 total regular-season matches. Each team will play 16 regular-season qualification matches with additional contests spread across four tournaments. Teams will once again be divided into East and West regions based on their home city location. This format moves the OWL from a traditional sports franchise league season structure to one with a greater emphasis on tournament play – generally the preferred viewing experience for esports fans.
