In recent years, there have been some great surprise releases each December hitting iOS or mobile in general. SteamWorld Quest ($6.99) from Image & Form is one such release. SteamWorld Quest debuted on Nintendo Switch and was an excellent game right from the get go. It was updated a few times and also ported to PC. Unlike the SteamWorld Dig games or SteamWorld Heist, SteamWorld Quest was a deck building turn based tactical RPG hybrid release. Read my full review of the iOS version here and Shaun’s review of the Nintendo Switch version here. Today, SteamWorld Quest on iOS gets its first discount following the launch in December last year. It was already worth the asking price but you have less of an excuse now to skip it considering it was a lot cheaper on iOS than PC and Nintendo Switch. Watch the SteamWorld Quest iOS trailer below:
SteamWorld Quest is usually priced at $24.99 on Nintendo Switch and PC. The iOS version is priced at $9.99 but it is down to $6.99 for a limited time. SteamWorld Quest on iOS requires iOS 13 and later. An Android release isn’t planned as of now but the developers aren’t ruling one out eventually. Given the gameplay style and the port quality, SteamWorld Quest is absolutely worth playing on iOS. Hopefully it gets a few of the features that hold it back as mentioned in my review in future updates. We featured it as our Game of the Week when it released. Have you played SteamWorld Quest yet on any platform and what is your favourite SteamWorld game?
