LoL Championship Series Mid-Season Showdown Delivered by Grubhub Begins March 20 – The Esports Observer

The League of Legends Championship Series announced today that March 20 will signify the start of the first-ever Mid-Season Showdown, delivered by Grubhub. The league’s post-season event will continue until its championship event which will take place from April 10-11 at Los Angeles’ iconic Greek Theatre. Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, the finals event will not have a live audience.

After a one-year absence, fans will get to see an LCS title champion crowned. The winner will earn a spot in the global Mid-Season Invitational, to be held in May in Reykjavík, Iceland.

This season, the Mid-Season Showdown will be a combination of the LCS Spring Playoffs and Finals, which is the finale to the first half of the LCS’s year-long regular season and the first LCS championship title of 2021.

As part of the many sponsorship activations fans will experience while viewing the MSS, Grubhub Rift banners will be seen in each base, and the Baron will get its first ever Red Bull branded banner in the pit.

Going forward, because there are six teams that remain after qualifying through the regular season, LCS matches will see a change to a two-day Saturday-Sunday schedule until the MSS Finals Weekend.
