VSPN Acquires Live Streaming Talent Agency Famulei  – The Esports Observer

Chinese esports solutions company  VSPN (Versus Programming Network) announced Monday that the company has acquired Chinese live streaming talent agency Famulei. The agency will operate as an independent brand under VSPN. Zhou “Zax” Hao, the CEO of Famulei, will serve as the vice chairman of the group’s strategy committee, alongside Sicong Wang, CEO of Banana Gaming & Media.

Financial terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed. 

Earlier this year, VSPN raised a $60M USD Series B+ funding round, led by Prospect Avenue Capital (PAC), and acquired Chinese production company Banana Gaming & Media. It should be noted that VSPN, Banana Gaming & Media, and Famulei were all headquartered in Shanghai’s Linshi Road before the acquisition.

“VSPN plans to work alongside Famulei by focusing Livestream talents, diversified esports content, and key opinion leader monetization,” Dino Ying, CEO of VSPN told The Esports Observer, “we are dedicated to diversifying esports content in various terms to meet and entertain more esports enthusiasts. That will be our long-term goal, with the joint force of strong partners as Famulei and Banana Gaming.”

Based in Shanghai’s Linshi Road, Famulei operates businesses in live streaming talent management, marketing sponsorship, licensing, and e-commerce operations. In the Chinese esports live streaming business, Famulei has partnered with T1 Entertainment & Sports, Team Liquid, and Gen.G Esports, as well as famous esports players and streamer Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, Samu “Sambty” Kauppinen, and Júlia “Mayumi” Nakamura.
