Boost Gaming teams up with Celebrity Esports Superstar League

Boost Gaming, an online digital gaming shop owned by Blackhawk Network, has been announced as the latest official partner of Celebrity Esports Superstar League

The partnership will see the online shop provide activations and exclusive offers for viewers of Superstar League during its inaugural season.

The celebrity-focused entertainment esports series is set to air its first episode on May 28th.

With a mission to ‘bring esports to a mainstream audience’, the league pits celebrities head-to-head against each other across a number of titles, via the use of branded esports teams. Among the partnered brands are streaming platform NOW, fashion retailer Primark and performance nutrition brand Grenade.

Leo Skagerlind, Celebrity Esports CEO, spoke on the partnership in a release: “It’s a great feeling to be able to announce Boost Gaming as a partner of ours. Boosts Gaming’s broad variety of gaming top-up products and easy to navigate platform makes for the perfect fit as we strive to engage with gamers and entertainment buffs across the whole community.”

The titles selected for the competition are yet to be revealed.

Dean Douglas, Boost Gaming Channel Director, stated, “We’re really excited to be welcoming Celebrity Esports into the Boost Gaming community. As Gaming continues to become more mainstream it is vital for organisations to open the door to a wider market of casual fans and CES are leading the charge here.”

Celebrities who have been announced for the first episode of the series include the likes of Jimmy Carr, Joel Dommett, Kem Cetinay and footballer Chelcee Grimes, among others. 

Esports Insider says: With Celebrity Esports looking to tap into a more mainstream audience, partnering with a platform that can potentially entice people into purchasing game-related products certainly makes sense. For Boost Gaming, it’s also a good way to attain more exposure.
