Elverils, the Studio behind the iPad Version of ‘Divinity Original Sin 2’ Is Gauging Interest in an iPad Release of the First Game, More Surprises Teased – TouchArcade

It was quite the ride to go from the initial tease to the final release of the massive RPG Divinity: Original Sin 2 ($24.99) on modern iPads. It recently arrived and featured it as our Game of the Week when it launched. Read my review of it here on iPad Pro 2020. Following the launch, Divinity: Original Sin 2 was updated with many improvements and fixes and the team confirmed that both Elverils and Larian are keen on supported the iPad release. Today, Elverils Tweeted about some surprises in the works for Divinity: Original Sin 2 on iPad and also asked what people thought about a potential iPad version (A12 and later) of the first Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition. Elverils confirmed in a reply to Killercow that no promises can be made but Elverils is gauging interest in an iPad version of Divinity: Original Sin right now. Watch the console trailer for Divinity: Original Sin below:

The first Divinity: Original Sin is what got a lot of people I know into the genre through the initial PC and eventual PS4 and Xbox release. What makes a potential iPad conversion even more special, is that there is currently no portable release of Divinity: Original Sin at all. Hopefully we do see this come to fruition in the future. I’d love to have a portable version of another Larian Studios masterpiece on iPad. Regarding the surprises planned for Divinity: Original Sin 2, I’m hoping cross platform save support is one of them. If you own a fairly recent iPad (check the App Store page for the supported devices), you can buy Divinity: Original Sin 2 on the App Store right now for $24.99 here which is half the price of other platforms. Have you been playing it on iPad yet and would you like to see a port of the first game?
