How to Get Glittering Spores in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

Glittering spores are a consumable item that can be scooped up in an empty bottle.

You may already know about mushroom spores, which are similar. These can be found by slashing any regular mushroom in Faron Woods and scooping up the spores into a bottle. Mushroom spores don’t have many useful properties on their own.

On the other hand, the glittering ones are much more useful. These spores can only be found on sparkling mushrooms.

Look around Faron Woods for the mushrooms that sparkle. Sometimes, they are by the bird statues when you enter the region. When you find one that sparkles, get out an empty bottle, and stand near the mushroom. Then, press R when holding the bottle next to the spores to scoop them up. You can release the spores by holding the bottle and pressing R again.

Here are some of the effects that glittering spores can have when being poured on various things:

  • Prevents bugs from flying away so you can catch them easily
  • Stuns enemies, leaving them open to be attacked
  • Changes the value of Rupees (both higher and lower at random)
  • Turns hearts into fairies

Each bottle of glittering spores has five uses before you need to refill your bottle. Experiment with pouring the spores on different items and enemies to see what can happen.

That’s everything you need to know about how to get glittering spores in the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. For more tips and tricks, be sure to check out our Skyward Sword HD guide wiki.
