Kena: Bridge of Spirits is due to be released tomorrow and developer Ember Lab has revealed a Photo Mode that will allow players to get the perfect Rot shot at any time. Publisher Maximum Games also revealed a physical Deluxe Edition that will be released at retailers in November.
Photo Mode can be activated at any point throughout the campaign. Once triggered, all characters will stop what they’re doing and freeze. Notably different from other photo modes, you can hit the “action” button to let characters keep moving, rather than staying frozen. The characters will keep their attention on the camera as it’s moved around to get the best angle. When you photo is lined up, you can either take the photo as it is or press the CHEESE button, which gives all characters, including NPCs, the opportunity to strike a pose. A lot of the characters will have multiple poses they can randomly choose that show off their personality. You can even give the Rot hats to wear, and that’s not just in photo mode. Maximum Games has also revealed it will be releasing a physical Deluxe Edition of the game for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in November. Alongside a copy of Kena, this version will include the official digital soundtrack, a Golden Rot skin, a unique Kena Staff, a retail exclusive sticker sheet, and unique Celebration Hats for the Rot. The Deluxe Edition will be available at retailers and will cost $49.99 with preorders starting soon. Ember Lab’s COO Josh Grier said:
Our community was extremely vocal about their desire for a physical edition from the moment we first announced the game. It’s an honor to create a game people want to add to their collections, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Maximum Games to make that happen so quickly after the initial launch.
