Arcane Vi, Jayce, Caitlyn and Jinx skins coming to League of Legends for free: Here’s how to unlock them

Riot Games has revealed some new free Arcane Edition skins for League of Legends: Arcane Jayce (left) and Arcane Vi (right), as well as Arcane Jinx and Arcane Caitlyn.

Arcane is the name of the upcoming animated Netflix show which launches on November 7th 2021.

Based on the world behind League of Legends, Arcane dives into the ‘delicate balance between the rich city of Piltover and the seedy underbelly of Zaun’.

Players will recognise League of Legends champions like Jinx, Vi, Jayce and Caitlyn in Arcane, and learn about their back stories.

Riot says players will be able to unlock these skins for free as part of the RiotX Arcane event, by playing the game. Simply win a game, or play three games, to unlock one. You won’t be able to unlock them all at once – as the Arcane in-game event continues more skins will be unlockable.

Jayce will be unlockable from November 8th, Vi from November 15th, Caitlyn from November 22nd and Jinx from November 24th 2021.

Unlocking each skin will also apparently unlock the corresponding champion – if you haven’t obtained them yet.

If you miss the boat, the skins will be available for 975RP each after the event has finished.

You can see the full splash art and PBE (Public Beta Environment) preview animations for the skins in these tweets from the official UK, Ireland and Nordics League of Legends Twitter account:

The two other Arcane Edition skins – Arcane Jinx and Arcane Caitlyn – have also been revealed:

The fact that Riot has called these skins ‘Arcade Edition’ skins implied there was more to unlocking them than the usual RP.

Other skins with ‘Edition’ in the name include Prestige Edition skins, which can be unlocked using Prestige Points. These can take time to be collected – players can earn Prestige Points by completing in-game missions, using event passes and opening masterwork chests.

Players can also turn in 2,200 event tokens in exchange for 100 Prestige Points, which is usually what one Prestige Edition skin costs.

The current in-game event pass is for Worlds 2021. It makes sense for the next pass in League of Legends to be an Arcane pass, given that the Worlds event expires in-game on November 9th and the Arcane Netflix TV show starts on November 7th.

Riot Games has also announced that the animated TV series Arcane will be open for co-streaming exclusively on Twitch.

Riot recently announced the LoL 2021 Ranked Rewards, including the Victorious Blitzcrank skin, plus separate Dragonmancer Kai’Sa, Prestige Dragonmancer Volibear and other skins.

And in other LoL skin news, a few weeks ago, Riot announced Bewitching Morgana Prestige Edition skin, which leads a line of new Halloween LoL skins for 2021.
