Where to Find Unown in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Guides

Pokemon has a long history of containing joke or gimmick Pokemon. Essentially, new additions to the Pokedex that aren’t really meant to be taken seriously as a battle partner but instead are meant to be cute, funny, or just show off a new feature. In the case of Unown, back in Gen II when it first debuted, it was just tied to the story as a living relic of sorts that would stick to walls and tell a story. It really doesn’t do anything other than that but regardless, the completionists are still wondering where to find Unown in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Here’s what you need to know.

Catching Unown in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

If you’re looking to find Unown in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, head on over to the Solaceon Ruins. If you know anything about this Pokemon, you know that if they are to appear, they generally are one to hang out in or around ruins. It’s just kind of their thing, I guess. There are plenty of them to catch, so getting at least one is no problem whatsoever. Just please don’t use it in battle.

There probably aren’t too many people out there who try to catch Unown for its physical prowess. It has 336 base stats, which is absolutely pathetic, and can only use one move: Hidden Power. Unown is probably the only Pokemon that Magicarp could hope to defeat.

The main reason people try to catch Unown is to attempt to complete the Pokemon alphabet — a fun thing to hunt for. Essentially, every Unown is shaped like a letter of the English alphabet, and some people try and get all of the characters if they can.
