Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for January 11th, 2023. It’s a slow day for new releases, with just a single one on the board to look at. We’ve got the usual lists of new and expiring sales to look at, of course. But before we go into those things, we’ve got a couple of news items to check out. It’s another chill one today, but tomorrow will pick up the business. Let’s see what we’ve got!
News
Check Out the Lateset Trailer for ‘Tales of Symhonia Remastered’, Coming Feb 17th
For various reasons, Nintendo fans have always seemed to have a greater affinity for Tales of Symphonia than most other Tales games. Perhaps that’s why Bandai Namco has decided to bring Tales of Symphonia Remastered to the Switch. It’s arriving quite soon, February 17th to be exact, and in light of that there is a brand new trailer for you to enjoy. It’s up there. Above this paragraph. Can’t miss it, really.
‘Bayonetta 3’ Update Includes Balance Adjustments and More
The latest game in the Bayonetta series got an update today bringing the game to version 1.2.0. It seems like it’s mainly focused on tweaking the balance of the game in various ways. Some of Viola’s moves have been buffed, a couple of accessories have been tweaked, several of the Niflheim Stages have been made a bit easier, and unsealing the Old Picture Book is significantly simpler. The latter is significant because it is the means for playing the teaser for the upcoming Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. The update is live now, so just go ahead and hit the update option if it hasn’t already done it on its own.
New Releases
Children of Silentown ($19.99)
This is a new point-and-click style adventure game from the developer behind Little Briar Rose, a game that certainly had no shortage of praise thrown in its direction. It follows a girl named Lucy who fears the forest around her village. Villagers disappear now and then, and Lucy finally decides she will be the one to investigate the problem. Sooner or later, she’s going to have to confront her fears. It looks pretty good, but I haven’t had a chance to play it yet.
Sales
(North American eShop, US Prices)
Continuing the recent trend, there isn’t a lot to look at in today’s list of new sales. The good news is that it is short enough that you don’t really need me to walk you through it. The outbox is larger, but most of what’s in it will be back around before long. So do check it, but don’t feel overly pressured to buy anything right now.
