PlayStation Free Online Multiplayer Weekend Won’t Require PS Plus

Sony has revealed a PlayStation free online multiplayer weekend for February 18 and 19 that will not require a PS Plus membership. This comes as part of the PlayStation Festival of Play event, which includes a God of War Ragnarok game trial starting today for PS Premium/Deluxe members, new PS Stars Collectibles, and a nifty PS Plus double discount for all PS Plus subscribers.

PlayStation Tournaments will be free at the same time

Those who have a PlayStation Stars membership, which is also free, can earn yet another digital collectible simply by being a part of this event. You can check the “PlayStation Stars: Free Online Multiplayer Is Live” campaign in the PS Stars app for more information.

This promotion coincides with PlayStation Tournaments during the same weekend, which will also not require a PS Plus membership. The list of games featured during this time include NBA 2K23, FIFA 23, and Guilty Gear Strive.

Both PS5 and PS4 players can participate in these tournaments, though they must be at least 16 years of age and a resident of an eligible country. The top prize for winning one of these special tournaments is a 3-month PS Plus voucher.

You can also enter a contest for an opportunity to win a Sony Bravia XR OLED TV and other Sony hardware by answering several questions about PlayStation Plus on the official website. For participating countries, the contest ends on February 24 at 11:59 pm local time.
