While Like a Dragon: Ishin features a variety of amusing substories, few of them rise to the level of The Way of the Sammerai. It presents a clear spoof of the events depicted in the Hollywood blockbuster, The Last Samurai. Clearing it also grants access to a nice reward. Here is our guide on how to complete The Way of the Sammerai substory in Like a Dragon: Ishin.

Like a Dragon: Ishin – Steps to complete the Way of the Sammerai
In the substory, you meet a character named Tom who dresses in gaudy clothes featuring stars and stripes. He is a fish out of water, and the locals don’t like him much. To complete The Way of the Sammerai substory in Like a Dragon: Ishin, meet with Tom multiple times to train him in your ways. You will need to fight a few battles, but that’s nothing you can’t handle.
You will first meet with Tom in the northwest corner of Yashikimachi. There, he is having an argument with two disreputable sorts. You save him from disaster and take him to a nearby dojo for some training. After that easy battle concludes, your next meeting will take place when you wander past that same dojo. He wants a rematch, and quickly falls to your sword yet again. The same thing happens during your third meeting, which follows an interaction with some mean children.
The final sequence kicks off when you find those same mean children being accosted on the main street leading north through Fushimi Ichibangai from the docks. Tom steps in to save the day, and you help him dispatch some ruffians.
Shortly after you finish Tom’s substory, you’ll find him standing near the entrance to the barracks. Talk to him and he will join your squad. His corporal ability vastly amplifies all troopers’ attack damage, defense, and restoration. The time he spent with you clearly did him some good. With that, the The Way of the Sammerai substory is complete, and you can continue your adventures in Like a Dragon: Ishin.
Like a Dragon: Ishin can be purchased on Steam and the Xbox marketplace.
