We are Ven… really good in missions

Before we discuss Marvel’s Midnight Suns Venom best cards, let’s talk about his passives and unique mechanics:

  • Ravenous – Increases Venom’s offense and is at the maximum threshold at the start of missions. Each attack or heroic card consumes +1 Ravenous point. This passive makes Venom an absolute menace on the battlefield due to stronger attacks right from the get-go.
  • We Are Venom I/II – By default, this gives a 25% chance to not consume Ravenous. Once Friendship has been leveled up, the second tier will prevent the first attack card played from consuming Ravenous.

Best Venom Skill Cards

  • Symbiotic Senses+
    • Upgraded: Draw +1 Venom attack or heroic card; the next two attack cards won’t consume Ravenous.
    • Notes: This works in conjunction with the We Are Venom II passive, especially if you use an attack card followed by this one. Also, I’m not sure if this can get the Free mod, but it can give +2 rerolls.
  • Insatiable Hunger+
    • Upgraded: Gain +1 Ravenous instantly; +1 Ravenous at the start of next turn; Free.
    • Notes: Funnily enough, this can roll with the +2 Heroism mod. So, yes, it’s a Free card that still gives Heroism.
  • Assimilation+ (Legendary/Skill)
    • Upgraded: Venom attack and heroic cards gain Quick and “draw Venom attack/heroic card on KO” perks until the end of your turn; gain +1 Ravenous instantly; Exhaust.
    • Notes: This is easily the best Venom cards in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, made more unique by the fact that it’s currently the only legendary that’s also a skill type. This will turn Venom into a devastating powerhouse, rushing enemies with brutal efficiency. You’ll refund your card plays and ensure that you’ve got more abilities to use. Likewise, I’ve heard that it’s possible to roll a Free mod for this one, too.

Note: Legendary Cards are obtained by building the Armory. You’ll also want to max out Venom’s Friendship Level by way of ideal gifts and hangouts. Only then will you be able to start his unique challenge.

Best Venom Attack Cards

  • Web Toss+
    • Upgraded: Forceful Knockback in any direction; can’t be used on grounded targets (i.e., objects/protection-active).
    • Notes: While it’s a fairly simple and straightforward ability, it’s one of the best Venom cards in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Similar to Ghost Rider’s Lash, it lets you throw an opponent far away, likely to other mobs or explosives. And, yes, it can roll with the Quick mod, too.
  • Tendril Strike+
    • Upgraded: Chain 2; Quick.
    • Notes: This gets on the list simply because it has Quick once upgraded. However, it loses its appeal once you have Assimilation, or other cards that have also rolled with the Quick perk.

Best Venom Heroic Cards

  • Devouring Strike+
    • Upgraded: Chain 4; does not consume Ravenous.
    • Notes: Among the Marvel’s Midnight Suns Venom best cards, Devouring Strike is right up there near the top of the list. Each hit doesn’t do a lot of damage by default, although having full Ravenous does help. It does become more effective if you can manage to roll a +1 Marked mod. You’ll be able to apply the Marked debuff to four enemies at most, making it ideal for card play refreshing.
  • Spike Burst+
    • Upgraded: Damage each enemy in an area; 10% chance to apply Bind; lowered cost to +2 Heroism.
    • Notes: Spike Burst is also right up there alongside Devouring Strike. The AoE radius is quite large enough (around three enemies can get hit). And, yes, it can also roll with +1 Marked.
  • Tasty Brains+
    • Upgraded: High damage by default; Lifesteal; on KO, the next Venom attack card does not consume Ravenous.
    • Notes: This is an okay Heroic card to have, assuming you’ve yet to get decent mod rolls for either Devouring Strike or Spike Burst. This can roll with Quick, which is okay if you’re still waiting to get Assimilation.

  • Truth be told, Venom has some of the best cards in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. He won’t be the strongest DPS or the tankiest character in the game, but there’s a lot of potential thanks to a lot of synergy and potential perks. His cards tend to either have Quick/Free as upgrades, mod rolls, or just from a simple Assimilation usage.
  • Venom’s playstyle revolves around maximizing his Ravenous and offensive capabilities. This is done by taking note of the cards you play, especially since attacks and heroics consume Ravenous:
    • If you’ve unlocked his level 2 passive, then you won’t need to worry about the first attack card you use.
    • If you have Symbiote Senses early in the battle, then you can activate it right after that first attack card.
  • Heroic cards will still consume Ravenous, though you won’t cast them as often. For the most part, you’ll just use Devouring Strike or Spike Burst to apply the Marked debuff (if you can get the mod to pop, that is).
  • Web Toss is a great attack card. It’s akin to Ghost Rider’s Lash and requires no additional setup/buffs.
  • Lastly, Deadpool might be a funny guy, but introducing Venom as DLC#2 makes Wade look like an absolute joke.
