Gearbox has announced that its Souls-like game Remnant 2, the sequel to 2019’s Remnant: From the Ashes, will come out this summer. The announcement was made on the official Gearbox Twitter account, where a trailer was posted that showed off some gameplay alongside cinematics. The trailer opens up with a character traveling around with their good boy (or girl). As the trailer goes on, we’re shown bits of gameplay of the character fighting off various monsters and how your dog will assist you in combat. Right before the trailer ends, we’re given a release window of Summer 2023.
The last time we were given any content on Remnant 2 was during The Game Awards, where another trailer showcased more gameplay and how co-op will look in action.
Remnant plays like most souls-like games, where you must time your attacks and blocks. But what makes it stand out from others is that the game revolves heavily around gunplay. So, in addition to being a beat-’em-up character, you’re encouraged to pick up a weapon and fight from a distance if need be.
Remnant 2 has no release date but is expected to drop on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S this summer.
