What Are Bond Fragments in Fire Emblem Engage?

In Fire Emblem Engage, Bond Fragments are a reward currency that can be earned by completing various tasks.

Bond Fragments are easily identified by a small snowflake-shaped icon, and can be used to purchase boosts and upgrades for your units, weapons, and rings.

Bond Fragments can be extremely useful in various scenarios, such as training your units with Emblems at the Training Arena, Engraving weapons, creating Bond Rings, and melding them together to create an even more powerful variant.

Because Bond Fragments are used in such a variety of situations, it’s important to keep a steady value at your disposal to help you through the game.

However, Bond Fragments can take a while to accumulate consistently, depending on which method you use to get them, so having a method to farm them will be sure to help you along the way.

These methods will be explained in further detail below so you can plan the best farming strategy for yourself.

Best Ways To Farm Bond Fragments in Fire Emblem Engage

There is a variety of ways to farm Bond Fragments in Fire Emblem Engage, but the one best suited for accumulating a high amount will depend on your personal preference.

Each method for collecting Bond Fragments will be explained in detail so you can determine the easiest methods to collect them as quickly as possible, depending on which stage of the game you are at.

The first way to obtain Bond Fragments in Fire Emblem Engage is by picking them up from the map during post-battle exploration.

After each combat, you will have the chance to wander the map, speak to comrades, and pick up loose items that are scattered around.

When picking up items, you will have the chance to pick up Bond Fragments on some maps. You can recognize loose items by the small sparkles icon on a patch of terrain. To pick up a loose item, simply walk up to it and press the A button to interact.

Of course, there won’t be Bond Fragments to find on every map, so this isn’t the most consistent method for collecting them. However, it can provide a helpful little boost to your collection and is available to do at any stage of the game.

The Second Method for obtaining Bond Fragments in Fire Emblem Engage is by donating to the kingdoms of Elyos.

For each Donation level increased, you will receive a reward of Bond Fragments, among other items and materials. On a level increase, the reward will vary between 500-3000 Bond Fragments.

Donating is one of the quickest ways to get Bond Fragments in large quantities, but will come at the cost of your gold.

This means that if money isn’t an issue with you on your playthrough and you have a reliable stash of coins to spend, Donating to kingdoms would be a very useful method to consider.

The third method for obtaining Bond Fragments is by completing Achievements found on the Bulletin Board in Somniel.

In Fire Emblem Engage, Achievements are in-game challenges that give a valuable amount of Bond Fragments as a reward for completion.

These challenges vary from completing certain actions and maneuvers in battle, interacting with certain units and vendors at Somniel, completing activities around Somniel, and more.

This is a great way to earn a high number of Bond Fragments as you continue to make steady progress through the game.

There is no limit to how many Achievements you can complete at a time, and each Achievement completed will grant anywhere between 10 – 2,000 Bond Fragments upon completion.

The fourth method for obtaining Bond Fragments in Fire Emblem Engage is by interacting with Sommie at Somniel.

Sommie is an adorable little pet that grants Bond Fragments after every battle. Sommie will grant 100 Bond Fragments if you feed it, and 100 Bond Fragments for petting it, allowing you to gain 200 Bond Fragments per battle.

While this won’t enable you to farm large quantities of Bond Fragments at a time, it is a very consistent and reliable method to keep a steady little boost.

Sommie can be found in a small cave area labeled Grotto on the Somniel map, so make sure to stop by and visit after every battle to gain the full benefits Sommie has to offer.

The fifth method for obtaining Bond Fragments is through the Strength Training activity at Somniel. Training will reward you with between 50-200 Bond Fragments after every battle, as long as you complete the activity.

During training, there are three different exercises to choose from, with each exercise having four different difficulty levels.

The amount of Bond Fragments you earn will depend on the difficulty level you select for your Strength Training activity, with higher levels giving a better chance at larger amounts.

Similar to Sommie, this method won’t boost your Bond Fragments by large quantities at a time but can be handy in providing a consistent increase of your Bond Fragments little by little after each battle you complete.

The sixth method for obtaining Bond Fragments in Fire Emblem Engage is by participating in Fishing at Somniel. Bond Fragments are given out as a reward for Fishing, with the amount of Bond Fragments earned varying depending on what fish is caught.

You can fish up to three times per battle in Fire Emblem Engage, with every fish granting between 20 – 100 Bond Fragments when caught, depending on the species.

While Fishing doesn’t grant a high amount of Bond Fragments in one reward, the minigame is quite enjoyable to participate in and is a fun way to take a break from the strategizing in combat and earn some extra Bond Fragments when visiting Somniel.

The seventh and last method for obtaining Bond Fragments is by completing the Wyvern Riding minigame at Somniel.

Wyvern Riding can be completed once per battle and will grant between 50 – 200 Bond Fragments each time the minigame is completed.

In order to unlock the Wyvern Riding minigame in Fire Emblem Engage, you will need to promote Alear to the Divine Dragon Class with the use of Master Seals.

When considering the methods above, it seems that the best methods for raising large quantities of Bond Fragments at a time are through donating to kingdoms of Elyos, and completing achievements from the Bulletin Board at Somniel.

The best methods for raising a small and steady amount of Bond Fragments consistently throughout your Fire Emblem Engage playthrough is by exploring maps post-battle, interacting with Sommie, Strength Training, Fishing, and Wyvern Riding.
