God of War Art Director Raf Grasetti Leaves Sony After More Than a Decade

Raf Grasetti, the talented Art Director for Sony’s God of War franchise, has announced his departure from the company. Grasetti’s career at Sony spanned over a decade, and his work on the 2018 God of War game earned him a prominent position within the PlayStation community. He also rose through the ranks at Santa Monica Studio as a result of his contributions to the game.

Emotional Farewell to Santa Monica Studio

Grasetti tweeted that Sony became his “second home” and thanked the developers who supported him throughout his career, including Cory Barlog and Eric Williams. Grasetti has said that he’ll unveil his next project soon.

Grasetti joined Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2012 as an Art Supervisor, where he worked on games such as Killzone: Shadow Fall, Infamous: Second Son, and The Order 1886. He moved to Santa Monica Studio in 2013 and progressed from Principal Artist to Art Director. Following his work on God of War Ragnarok, he was promoted to Studio Art Director in November 2022.

Kudos from God of War Team

Christopher Judge, the voice actor for Kratos, called the God of War team fortunate to have had Grasetti, while Cory Barlog, the game’s director, said it was an honor to work with him.

We wish Grasetti all the best with his future endeavors.
