It has been a while since we last heard from Square Enix about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the upcoming PS5 exclusive game. However, the video game publisher has recently provided a small update confirming that they are doing well with the development process. In a tweet from the official Final Fantasy 7 Twitter account, producer Yoshinori Kitase stated that the development of the game was going “according to plan.”

Kitase also added that Square Enix is currently “working on nailing down a release date for the game.” This statement is promising news for fans of the Final Fantasy franchise who have been eagerly anticipating the launch of Rebirth since its announcement in June 2022. The game was previously set for a winter 2023 release date, but Square Enix has yet to announce a specific date.
Tetsuya Nomura, the creative director of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, revealed in 2022 that development of the game was already progressing rapidly. Naoki Hamaguchi, the director, also stressed the importance of taking time to perfect the game to make it unforgettable to players.
Currently, Square Enix is focusing on promoting the release of Final Fantasy 16, another highly anticipated title, which is launching on June 22. Fans will have to wait for further news regarding Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s release date.
