Is Tears Of The Kingdom The Scariest Zelda Game Ever?

The world of The Legend of Zelda has always been filled with dangers and scares, but Tears of the Kingdom takes it to a new level. Even with a powerful Link and full hearts, the game manages to keep players on the edge of their seats. Unlike past games where danger is evident, this game lulls you into a false sense of security. Hyrule Field is different, with Bokoblins and Moblins meandering about, but you soon realize that there is a lot more danger than meets the eye. From roaming bands of enemies, to caves filled with terrifying creatures, Tears of the Kingdom will keep you on your toes.

Horrible lot

One of the most terrifying creatures that you may encounter is the Horriblin. These creepy crawlers cling to the ceiling and make a variety of unnerving noises. They are well-armed and have a hideout chock full of spooky things. They are capable of making players feel powerless, especially when taking on five at the same time.

Don’t Like Like it

The Like Like creature that appears in Tears of the Kingdom is massive compared to its Ocarina of Time cousin. It makes a gruesome noise, suggesting it is getting ready to eat, and is frightening to encounter. Other scary creatures in the open world include the Gleeok. These three-headed, three-eyed dragons can make even the bravest players feel nervous. They come in different variations, including the Thunder Gleeok in the coliseum or the Flame Gleeok on the Bridge of Hylia.

Gloom and doom

While the game is full of dangerous enemies, enemies that are infected with Gloom are amongst the worst. The substance covers the ground in patches, draining Link’s power and causing temporary health loss with a single strike. Regardless of how powerful you become, Glooms can still make Link feel small and powerless. The music in the Depths only adds to the feeling of being trapped and hunted. Even worse, Gloom Hands are always lurking and ready to strike at a moment’s notice.

The world of Tears of the Kingdom is more dangerous and scary than ever before, but that is part of what makes it so exciting. The game offers challenges both big and small, including everything from hidden caves to large beasts waiting in the open world. There is always something new to discover, and new horrors to face. Keep your wits about you, and don’t let the scares get the best of you.
