New Star Wars Open-World RPG Game: Outlaws
Ubisoft has released a trailer for their upcoming open-world RPG game, Star Wars Outlaws, a project developed by Massive Entertainment, the studio behind The Division. Take on the role of protagonist, Kay Vess, on a quest throughout the galaxy to make riches a reality.
Galactic Prequel
The events of the game take place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, where the Empire is still in power and gaining momentum in their efforts to take out the Rebel Alliance. With that said, the storyline in Star Wars Outlaws is centered around Kay Vess and her personal endeavors.
The Underworld’s Influence
The game features galaxy crime syndicates, such as the Pyke Syndicate, as their planetary underworld plays a vital role in the plot. Players must help Kay to achieve her goals by fighting, stealing, and outsmarting the crime syndicates. One of her acquaintances, Jaylin, presents a great opportunity to score big, putting Kay’s skills to the test.
Kay is equipped with two companions, including a reprogrammed CIS Commando droid sidekick named Nix, and another helpful creature. Speeder bikes and card games may also play a part in the activities players could encounter in-game.
Graphics and Gameplay
The game’s trailer is visually stunning, leading fans to have high hopes regarding its graphics quality. However, the disclaimer about the footage’s representation should be noted, bearing in mind that many game developers typically use max settings on the most expensive hardware when creating promotional material. Nonetheless, the game’s graphics are impressive, and it’s anticipated to make use of Ubisoft’s most recent Snowdrop engine.
As per the trailer, the game will be available to play in 2024. Additionally, Ubisoft has planned a Direct showcase where the game’s gameplay trailer will premiere.
