Krafton Launches Pre-Registrations for Defense Derby
Krafton, the company behind popular titles such as PUBG and PUBG: Mobile, recently launched pre-registrations for Defense Derby which is being developed by one of its studios, RisingWings. The game can be pre-registered on the iOS app store, Google Play, and Samsung’s Galaxy store, and is a fresh take on the tower defense genre. Players will be allowed to face each other and the last person standing will be the winner.
Early Access Test Results
According to Krafton, early access tests for the game have already accumulated a playtime of 81,568 hours, with 4,604 daily active users. This was relatively low, considering that the game is still in the early access phase. However, these figures represent a 190% increase in active playtime and a 32% increase in daily active users since the last test.
Simultaneous Worldwide Release
Defense Derby will be released simultaneously worldwide across 190 countries. Krafton has made the game available in nine languages, including English, as it was looking to appeal to the widest possible audience. It will also be launched on alternative app stores which is different from PUBG Mobile’s Indian launch, BGMI.
Back to Business for Krafton
Krafton sought to put all the controversies surrounding PUBG and its return to storefronts behind it. The company recovered BGMI and launched pre-registrations for Defense Derby, indicating that it is back to business as usual. However, there are new laws being proposed by the Indian government that may lead to more restrictive legislation around games in the country.
