The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is set in a version of Hyrule that closely resembles the one in Breath of the Wild. Many of the locations remain the same or have undergone minimal changes. Although some of these places may not hold as much significance as before, they haven’t completely disappeared. Here’s a guide on what to do at Lover’s Pond in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Activities at Lover’s Pond in Tears of the Kingdom
Lover’s Pond is a location that begs for exploration. It is a heart-shaped pond that is even represented as such on the world map. You can find it at the top of Tuft Mountain, located due west of Lurelin Village and southwest of Sifumim Shrine. Personally, I recommend fast traveling to the shrine and then heading southwest to reach the pond quickly.
In Breath of the Wild, Lover’s Pond played a significant role. Players could visit it to help two NPCs find romance as part of the A Gift of Nightshade Side Quest. It was a memorable moment in that previous game.
However, in Tears of the Kingdom, those two NPCs are nowhere to be found. I conducted a thorough investigation, even spending an entire in-game day lurking around the pond like a dedicated stalker. Unfortunately, nothing happened, except for the appearance of a few Sunset Fireflies near the water during the evening hours. On the bright side, if you’re looking to collect Sunset Fireflies, you can easily sneak up to them while crouching and add them to your collection.
Regrettably, it seems that Lover’s Pond does not serve a larger purpose in the game. Unlike the answer to what to do at Gut Check Rock in the north, which included a Silver Rupee and a Korok Seed. Not every old location can have a new twist or offer new rewards, but it does feel somewhat disappointing that love didn’t blossom for a second time.
