Dead Cells to Get Animated Series Adaptation in 2022
Adding to the ever-growing list of video games turned into animated series, Dead Cells is set to receive its own show based on the popular action roguelike. Scheduled to debut next year, this adaptation will be produced by French animation studio Bobbypills, which is also working on Netflix’s Captain Laserhawk.
The story of the animated series follows the same premise as the game, set on a cursed island plagued by a devastating disease that transforms its inhabitants into dangerous monsters. Only the legendary flame-headed hero can restore peace, even though the protagonist is not particularly enthusiastic about the task.
The Dead Cells series will consist of 10 episodes, each lasting seven minutes. Initially, the show will be exclusively available on the French anime streaming service ADN, which is also a co-producer, before becoming accessible globally.
