How to Successfully Capture Jellyfish in Dave the Diver
As you embark on your underwater adventure in Dave the Diver, one lucrative method for feeding your customers is by harpooning the cast of Finding Nemo. However, not all oceanic creatures in the game are easily caught with the Harpoon Gun. Among the resistant creatures you’ll encounter early on is the Jellyfish. In this guide, I will show you the best approach to catching Jellyfish in Dave the Diver.
The Straightforward Approach: Shooting the Jellyfish
There are several methods to catch a Jellyfish in Dave the Diver, but the simplest and most straightforward one is to shoot it. Aim carefully and land a few well-placed shots on the Jellyfish. Once it stops moving and becomes slightly darker in color, this signifies a successful kill. You can then pick it up without taking any damage. Feel free to use any weapon of your choice, but early on, I recommend the Triple Axel as it fires three projectiles simultaneously, allowing you to inflict significant damage when in close proximity to the Jellyfish. Shooting is a basic way to catch creatures that are resistant to the Harpoon Gun, but if you want to maximize your profits, there are additional strategies to consider.
Does Shooting Affect the Quality of my Catch?
Observant players may have noticed that utilizing bullets to kill a Jellyfish results in a low ‘Star’ rating for the catch. Rest assured, there are ways to overcome this limitation.
For capturing Jellyfish, your best option is to search for a Harpoon upgrade underwater. Keep in mind that all upgrades reset each time you dive, but fortunately, Harpoon modifications can be commonly found. The Tranquilizer Harpoon, for instance, temporarily puts targets to sleep. Capitalize on this brief window of opportunity to collect the Jellyfish unharmed and achieve a 3-star rating.
If you’re determined to use a gun, try obtaining the Hush Dart from underwater boxes. After finding it a few times, Duff will be able to craft one for you. The Hush Dart functions similarly to the Tranquilizer Harpoon but provides a little extra range.
Another viable method is to weaken your target using bullets and then reel it in with the Harpoon. This approach typically results in a two-star rating and decent earnings when served at the Sushi Bar.
