The Future of Exoprimal: Free Updates and a Monster Hunter Crossover
Capcom has provided an update on what players can expect from Exoprimal in the coming months. The company has outlined its plans for free updates and even teased a crossover with Monster Hunter.
Short-Term Goals: Launching with a New Mode
In a recent showcase, director Takuro Hiraoka revealed some of the short-term goals for Exoprimal. The game will have a new mode at launch that eliminates the PvP brawl at the end, instead focusing on scoring teams based on how quickly they completed missions. This change was made in response to player feedback, as some players didn’t want to engage in direct PvP combat at the climax of each mission.
While story progress will not be affected, choosing the random option that drops players into either PvP or PvP-free matches will provide more experience.
A Roadmap for the Seasons
Exoprimal will follow a seasonal structure, with each season lasting three months. Each season will come with a title update that introduces new content and a battle pass.
Season 1 will kick off with a challenging weekly PvE mode called Savage Gauntlet on July 28, just two weeks after the season begins. In Savage Gauntlet, five-player teams will need to complete limited-time missions to earn rewards.
The first title update will arrive on August 16 and will feature 10 Alpha variants of the existing suits. These variants will offer new abilities, weapons, and more variety.
Season 2 is scheduled to start in mid-October and will include the highly anticipated Street Fighter 6 crossover. Additionally, players can expect new rigs and modules, another map, a new final mission, and more.
What’s in Store for Season 3?
Jumping ahead to January 2024, Season 3 will introduce Beta variants of every suit and a new enemy called the Neo Triceratops. This enemy, with its multiple horns, challenges the “Tri” part of “Triceratops.”
Furthermore, Capcom has announced a Monster Hunter crossover for Season 3, although specific details have not been revealed yet. More information will be shared at a later date. However, it’s worth noting that no Dino Crisis crossovers have been teased, despite ongoing requests from players.
