Tips for Using Fused Mushrooms in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, mushrooms have become much more versatile and valuable thanks to the new Fuse ability. By fusing mushrooms with your weapons, arrows, and shields, you can unlock a range of interesting effects. In this guide, we will explore the properties and benefits of fused mushrooms.
Enhanced Melee Weapons
One notable effect of fusing mushrooms is the transformation of your melee weapons into “bouncy” weapons. This means that charged attacks or the last hit of your standard attack combo will send enemies flying much further than usual. While this may not work on bosses or enemies that don’t enter a “ragdoll” state, it is highly effective against regular enemies. It provides excellent crowd control and adds a touch of visual comedy to your battles. It becomes even more effective near water or cliffs, as a single hit can often result in enemies meeting their demise.
Disarming Enemies with Mushroom-Fused Shields
Another hidden property of mushrooms is that they enhance your shield’s parrying ability. Normally, a shield parry can only disarm an enemy if the shield’s guard stat exceeds the attack stat of the enemy’s weapon. However, when you attach a mushroom to your shield, the parry will disarm the enemy regardless of stats. This feature proves particularly useful in the early stages of the game, providing a swift means of gathering more weapons and reducing enemy offenses.
(Note: Burning fused mushrooms can set enemies on fire, but it is more beneficial to use a burning stick or a dedicated fire-based item. Additionally, Puffshrooms, a separate item, possess unique properties that do not apply to universal mushrooms.)
