MythForce Set to Launch on September 12 Across Consoles and PC
After spending some time in Early Access on the Epic Games Store, Beamdog’s cartoon roguelike, MythForce, finally has an official release date. On September 12, the game will launch on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store.
Accompanying the release date announcement is a brand-new trailer for MythForce, which you can watch below.
MythForce is an online co-op four-player FPS roguelike that draws inspiration from ’80s cartoons. Set in a fantasy world, players can choose from four unique characters: Victoria the valiant Knight, Rico the charming Rogue, Maggie the wise Mage, and Hawkins the deadly Hunter. Each character offers a distinct playstyle and abilities.
The upcoming 1.0 launch of MythForce will feature three story episodes, an improvement from the single episode available during Early Access. Additionally, players can unlock different difficulty modes, the progression system has been overhauled, and drop-in drop-out functionality has been added for online co-op.
It’s worth noting that Beamdog, the game’s developer, was acquired by publisher Aspyr shortly after MythForce was initially revealed. While initial impressions of the game’s gameplay were mixed, the vibrant aesthetic and promised updates for the full release offer hope for an improved experience.
