The Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack Introduces Six Base Roster Characters
The leak of the first Kombat Pack for Mortal Kombat 1 turned out to be accurate as Homelander, Peacemaker, Omni-Man, Takeda, Ermac, and Quan Chi have all been officially confirmed through a newly released trailer.
An official Mortal Kombat account mistakenly released the trailer a bit early before the scheduled reveal at Comic-Con, but NetherRealm Studios rectified the situation by releasing the official trailer shortly after. In the newly released trailer, it seems that Homelander and Peacemaker closely resemble Antony Starr and John Cena, respectively, but it is unclear if these actors will also provide the characters’ voices. It is worth noting that Sylvester Stallone and Peter Weller lent their voices to Rambo and RoboCop, respectively, in Mortal Kombat 11, while The Terminator was not voiced by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Quan Chi and Ermac have long been fan-favorite characters in the Mortal Kombat series. On the other hand, Takeda is a relatively new addition, debuting in Mortal Kombat X as Kenshi Takahashi’s son. The Kombat Pack will also include five Kameo Fighters: Tremor, Khameleon, Mavado, Johnny Cage, and Ferra.
Homelander has been given a release window, and players can expect to see him in the game in the spring of 2024. Additionally, the Kombat Pack grants one-week early access to each character, along with the previously announced Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage.
Aside from the character reveals in the trailer, NetherRealm also showcased other exciting content at the panel.
