Xbox Series X/S ‘Stormcloud Vapor’ Controller Leaked
The next iteration of Microsoft’s wireless controller could potentially be called the Xbox Stormcloud Vapor, as per insider BillBil-kun, renowned for accurate PlayStation Plus lineup leaks. Alongside the controller’s name, the insider has also shared details about its release date, price, and other specifications. Let’s delve into all the information surrounding the upcoming Xbox Series X/S controller:
According to reports, insider BillBil-kun has shared information about the rumored Xbox Series X/S controller. Allegedly named Xbox Stormcloud Vapor, the controller is slated for release on August 8, 2023, as revealed by the same source.
The ‘Stormcloud Vapor’ controller is expected to retail for $69.99, a standard pricing for first-party Xbox gamepads. Recent additions to the lineup, such as the Lunar Shift and Sunkissed Vibes OPI variants of the Xbox Wireless Controller, are also available at the same price point.
While not many details regarding the aesthetic design or technical specifications have been disclosed, the controller’s internal codename is reportedly “Jemez.” It is speculated that the “Stormcloud Vapor” will be available in a cyan-blue color with gray undertones.
Billbil-kun suggests a potential connection between the “Stormcloud Vapor” controller and Forza Motorsport, as the latter is set to release on October 10, 2023. While the name of the controller doesn’t appear to directly correlate with the racing game series, it wouldn’t be unusual for Microsoft to launch a limited edition controller in the same month as the game that inspired it.
This aligns with Microsoft’s previous pattern, as seen with the Starfield Xbox Wireless Controller. The Starfield-themed controller, released in mid-June, features a design inspired by elements from the highly anticipated RPG title from Bethesda. The controller boasts gray and gold colors to match the game’s branding, along with textured grips. Currently priced at $79.99, the Starfield Xbox Wireless Controller is currently sold out on the official Xbox store.
