Diablo 4: A Guide to Completing the Holding Back the Flood Quest in Season 1
In Season 1 of Diablo 4, there are exciting new activities and challenges for both free players and those with the Battle Pass. One of the new quests involves assisting Cormond in building cages for corrupted enemies. However, before you can aid him, you must first complete the initial part of the Seasonal quest known as Holding Back the Flood. This guide will provide step-by-step instructions on how to complete this quest and save you precious time in your Seasonal Journey.
How to Complete the Holding Back the Flood Quest in Season 1
To undertake this quest, you must fulfill the objectives of the first two chapters of the Seasonal Journey. To view the required tasks, simply press the U key to access the Season tab. From there, navigate to the Season Journey section, where you will find the available missions.
Below is a breakdown of the objectives you must complete for each chapter:
- Chapter 1: 7 objectives
- Chapter 2: 9 objectives
Recommended Missions
Most of the objectives are relatively straightforward to complete. However, to expedite your progress, it is recommended to prioritize the following missions:
Chapter 1:
- The Hangman’s Garden: Collect fifteen Gallowvine.
- Heart of Corruption: Obtain a Malignant Heart during or after the campaign.
- Den of Evil: Complete any dungeon.
- Trouble in the Wilds: Finish any World Event.
- What Lurks Below: Conquer any cellar.
- Kind Stranger: Accomplish any priority or side quest.
- Keeper of Keys: Collect a Whispering Key.
Chapter 2:
- Undertaker: Complete ten cellars.
- Stopping the Spread: Obtain 3 Malignant Hearts during or after the campaign.
- Ruins Reclaimed: Conquer a Stronghold.
- A Torch in the Depths: Finish 5 Malignant Tunnels.
- Baptized in Blood: Reach level twenty-five.
- Vivisector: Collect fifteen Demon Hearts from slain demons or in cellars.
- Warrior of Taste: Change your appearance 5 times in the Wardrobe.
- Lighting the Way: Interact with ten waypoints.
- Spit and Polish: Upgrade items to the first level at a Blacksmith or Jeweler.
- Finer Clarity: Upgrade your potion at an Alchemist.
