Tomb Raider, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and 21 Savage Join Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone in Season 5
In the upcoming Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone, players will be able to play as iconic video game character Lara Croft, as well as hip hop artists Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and 21 Savage. The new season is set to launch on August 2, with the addition of these exciting playable Operators.
According to a blog post by Call of Duty, Lara Croft will be available as an Operator bundle on the store mid-season, along with 21 Savage. Snoop Dogg, on the other hand, will be added during the launch window, while Nicki Minaj will make her debut in-season.
The inclusion of these musical artists in the game is a celebration of 50 years of hip-hop. Players who log in between August 7 and August 16 on four separate days within that timeframe will receive a free gift. The first three days will grant a War Track from the 80s, 90s, or 2000s, and on the fourth login day, players will receive a special Weapon Blueprint.
Kotaku reached out to Activision to confirm that Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and 21 Savage provided voiceover work for their Operators. Images of Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg in-game, as well as a teaser of 21 Savage’s Operator, have been released, although an image of the Lara Croft Operator has not yet been unveiled.
There’s more to look forward to in Season 5 of Modern Warfare II and Warzone. The launch will introduce four new maps, including two core maps and two gunfight maps. In the middle of the season, players can expect the release of an additional core map. Furthermore, the game will receive new operators, weapons, game modes, and more, as detailed in the Call of Duty blog post.
One particularly exciting event in Season 5 is the special reveal of the 2023 Call of Duty game. Players are encouraged to participate in a limited-time event in Call of Duty: Warzone to experience this worldwide reveal. They can join the ranks of Shadow Company to combat the Konni forces and neutralize the chemical weapon threat. More information about this upcoming reveal will be announced on Call of Duty channels.
Season 5 of Modern Warfare II and Warzone will be available on August 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
