One of the more unique features of Street Fighter 6 is the addition of a commentary feature that adds esports-style commentary from various fighting game community personalities to the fights. However, a recent video from the popular FGC YouTube channel HiFight reveals a secret commentator option that is sure to bring a smile to your face.
According to HiFight’s video, the discovery of this secret Easter egg can be credited to Twitter user @pika0722chu_. The key to unlocking this hidden gem is to enter a secret code on the versus screen, where the fighter faces are displayed. Once the code is entered and the commentary feature is activated, the selected commentators will be replaced with animal sounds, including a chicken, horse, sheep, elephant, lion, and more.
The secret code to activate the animal-based match analysis is as follows:
- PlayStation: Down, R1, Up, L1, Square, X, Triangle, and Circle
- Xbox: Down, RB, Up, LB, X, A, Y, B
This code is actually a nostalgic reference to a classic cheat from the 16-bit era. In the original Street Fighter II for SNES, entering the code “Down, R, Up, L, Y, B” at the start-up screen would unlock alternate colors and allow both players to select the same character.
The Street Fighter 6 community became aware of this Easter egg after game director Takayuki Nakayama mentioned its existence. The secret had remained undiscovered since the game’s launch in early June. Three days after Nakayama’s tweet, @pika0722chu_ posted a video on Twitter confirming the code’s validity.
Street Fighter 6 is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
