The Next Season of Overwatch 2 Will Introduce a New Hero
Blizzard Entertainment has been teasing the upcoming new hero for Overwatch 2, revealing only veiled images of the character who has been confirmed to be a support. However, recent leaks have provided clearer pictures of this mysterious hero, giving fans a better look at what’s to come.
Introducing Illari: The Alleged New Hero
Overwatch streamer Stevo recently shared pictures of the alleged new hero, believed to be named Illari. While the default skin is not visible, the leaked images showcase her in pajamas and a more intricate suit. Although Stevo didn’t provide any specific details about her abilities, he joked about her potentially having a healing turret.
It’s worth noting that the leaked render aligns with the official tease featured in the Invasion trailer from June. Both versions of the hero wield a sword-like weapon and wear a cape in their Daybreak skin. Additionally, the name “Illari” translates to “dawn” or “bright” in Quechua, a language spoken in South American countries like Peru, Bolivia, and Colombia. The hero was depicted in the trailer with the sun behind her. Furthermore, her “Llama Pajamas” skin could be a nod to Peru, as llamas are often associated with the region.
Upcoming Season 6 and Early Skins
The leaked images and information about the new hero will soon be confirmed or debunked, as Season 6 is scheduled to launch on August 10. Interestingly, this isn’t the only leak associated with the upcoming season. Blizzard president Mike Ybarra accidentally shared artwork featuring new Season 6 skins on Reddit before deleting the post. The leaked skins appear to have an Omnic theme, showcasing Overwatch heroes wearing the armor of their enemies.
