This Lego Harry Potter game is reportedly on its way
Following the success of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in 2022, it appears that TT Games is taking a similar approach with the Harry Potter franchise. A leaked image suggests that a Lego Harry Potter collection encompassing the entire saga is in the works.
According to Video Games Chronicle, an Instagram post teasing the game was briefly posted and then taken down. The post featured Warner Bros South Africa and hinted at a potential reveal on August 25, 2023, which coincides with Gamescom, the major gaming convention in Europe. TT Games, renowned for its Lego game titles, is based in the United Kingdom.
The leaked post also displayed TT Games’ logo. While one source confirmed that the game is indeed in development, they could not verify the authenticity of the advertisement.
Rumors of a Lego Harry Potter game first surfaced in February 2022, along with speculation about several other Lego titles, including the game that later became Lego 2K Drive. In March, a report surfaced claiming that the development of the Lego Harry Potter game was diverting resources away from other TT Games projects, such as Lego Batman 4 and the unannounced Mandalorian DLC for the Skywalker Saga. The report also suggested that TT Games had canceled projects involving a Guardians of the Galaxy game, a Disney game, a Warner Bros. IP-themed shooter, and a mobile version of Lego Worlds.
Previous Lego Harry Potter games, such as Lego Harry Potter: Years 1–4 and Lego Harry Potter: Years 5–7, were remastered and released together as the Lego Harry Potter Collection. This mirrors the approach taken with the Lego Star Wars games, in which individual titles or bundles were combined, expanded upon, and reinvented for the Skywalker Saga.
