Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Recruit the Owlbear Cub
In the popular video game Baldur’s Gate 3, players have the opportunity to recruit a variety of characters to join their team. One such character is the adorable yet dangerous Owlbear Cub. However, obtaining this furry companion requires several specific actions to be performed. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to recruit the Owlbear Cub in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Recruiting the Owlbear Cub in Baldur’s Gate 3
The first step in acquiring the Owlbear Cub is to venture into the Owlbear Cave, located northeast of the Blighted Village or north of the bridge. As you make your way downstream, you will notice a large cave entrance on the left side of the stream. Enter the cave to proceed.
Inside the cave, you will come across the mother Owlbear and her cub. Sadly, you must eliminate the mother, but be sure not to harm the cub. Once the mother is defeated, take the opportunity to rest and then head west to the Goblin Camp near the Blighted Village.
Upon arrival at the Goblin Camp, you will encounter a group of goblins. It’s important to approach the camp peacefully. Once inside, head north towards the ruined temple and seek out Krolla, a goblin residing there. She will offer you a chance to play the Chicken-Chasing mini-game, which is necessary for capturing the Owlbear Cub.
To successfully recruit the Owlbear Cub, participate in the Chicken-Chasing mini-game, pay 30 Gold, and emerge victorious. Afterward, speak to Krolla once again to ensure the Owlbear Cub joins your team. Finally, return to your campsite and rest. During the night, the Owlbear Cub will approach you as your character sleeps.
In addition to the Owlbear Cub, Baldur’s Gate 3 offers a variety of other companion characters for recruitment. One such character is Volo, a bard who is held captive in the Goblin Camp. Free him from his cage to add him to your campsite.
