Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (MW3) Still Playable on Xbox One and PlayStation 4
As we enter deeper into the current console cycle, many studios are opting to leave behind the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However, Activision is not ready to follow suit just yet. Despite rumors, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (MW3) will remain playable on the last-gen consoles.
This confusion began when a Call of Duty content creator, TheGamingRevolution, tweeted a picture from the Microsoft store on August 10. The image seemed to suggest that MW3 would only be available on the Xbox Series X|S. However, just days before this, PlayStation posted an MW3 trailer on its YouTube channel titled “Modern Warfare III – is Coming | PS5 & PS4 Games”.

The IGN report clarifies that the Xbox website has since been updated to indicate that MW3 will indeed be playable on the Xbox One. Furthermore, it will also be available on the PlayStation 4 when it launches later this year.
Although there is limited information available about MW3, it has been confirmed that players will face off against Makarov, the notorious villain from the earlier games. The official reveal of MW3 will take place during a Warzone event on August 17.
