Former Xbox Executive Larry Hryb Visits Nintendo
Last month, Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb announced his departure from Microsoft and team Xbox after a 20-year tenure at the company.
In a social media post to his more than one million followers, the senior director of corporate communications expressed his need to “take a step back and work on the next chapter” of his career. In an update, Hryb revealed that he recently paid a visit to Nintendo, although he tagged it as “just visiting.”
While some speculate the significance of this visit, with many followers and Nintendo fans sharing their thoughts on a potential collaboration, it’s important to note that Hryb’s visit might simply be a farewell to colleagues at Nintendo’s American branch. Microsoft and Nintendo have maintained a strong relationship for years, and their headquarters are located near each other in Redmond, Washington.
It’s worth considering that Hryb’s visit could also have another purpose. Both Nintendo and Microsoft have a history of employees moving between the two companies, and they have collaborated on various projects, including Minecraft, Banjo-Kazooie, Steve and Alex in Super Smash Bros., and the recent addition of GoldenEye 007 to the NSO service.
