Tekken 8 Release Date and Special Editions Announced
Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially confirmed the release date for Tekken 8. The highly anticipated game will be available on January 26, 2024, and will be playable on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Along with the standard version, Tekken 8 will also offer two special editions and exclusive bonuses for PlayStation players.
Tekken 8 Special Editions:
Players have the option to choose from three editions of Tekken 8:
- Standard Edition – $69.99: The base version of the game.
- Deluxe Edition – $99.99: Includes the base game and four post-launch DLC fighters. Also includes an avatar skin of Kinjin and a gold suit pack with extra costumes for the 32 fighters in the base roster.
- Ultimate Edition – $109.99: Offers everything from the Deluxe Edition, as well as a classic Tekken shirt with 32 designs for the player’s avatar. Also includes avatar skins resembling Kazuya Mishima, Jin Kazama, and Jun Kazama.
Pre-orders are currently available for all editions. By pre-ordering any edition, players will receive the exclusive Paul Phoenix avatar skin. PlayStation players who pre-order will also receive Mokujin and Tetsujin avatar skins, which are wooden and metal fighters respectively.
Arcade Quest Mode and Avatar Skins:
Tekken 8 introduces a new Arcade Quest mode where players can utilize the avatar skins mentioned above. This mode features a digital arcade setting and player-made avatars. It follows the player’s journey through the ranks of the arcades and incorporates “AI-infused learning,” although specific details about this feature have not been revealed.
Returning Characters:
The recently released trailer for Tekken 8 also confirmed the return of several beloved characters, including Shaheen, Leo, Yoshimitsu, Steve, Dragunov, and Kuma.
