Nintendo has confirmed that the new voice actor for Mario will be revealed in the credits of Super Mario Bros. Wonder. There will be no special announcements made prior to the game’s release, according to Doug Bowser, the president of Nintendo of America.

“We’ll let that play out and that’ll be within the credits, people will learn who the new person is at that point in time, but we don’t plan to make any announcement in advance of that,” Bowser said to IGN.

Nintendo had previously urged fans to wait for the game’s release to find out the new voice actors for Mario and/or Luigi. Bowser also mentioned that Charles Martinet, the previous voice of Mario, was “very excited” about his new role and Nintendo looked forward to him continuing to represent the Mushroom Kingdom as Mario moved forward.

However, Martinet himself seems uncertain about his new ambassador role. He mentioned at a convention that he doesn’t know exactly what it will involve yet and will be learning alongside the fans.

So don’t expect any official announcements from Nintendo about Mario’s new voice actor before the release of Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Do you have any theories about who it could be? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
