Extracts from Tetsuya Nomura’s Interview
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Tetsuya Nomura, the mastermind behind Advent Children as well as both Final Fantasy VII Remake and the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, shed light on how the trilogy of games will handle the relationship with Advent Children, a movie set in the same world as Final Fantasy VII.
According to Nomura, the trilogy will seamlessly “link up” with Advent Children. Players need not worry about the connections as they make their way through the trilogy.
“If you play right through to the end, it will link up [to Advent Children] so you don’t need to worry about that,” assured Nomura.
The Impact of Advent Children
Advent Children takes place two years after the events of Final Fantasy VII and revolves around a trio of villains who kidnap and infect children with a dangerous disease.
Looking Ahead
The next installment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, is slated for release on February 29, 2024, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
