CD Projekt Red has announced that patch 2.01 for Cyberpunk 2077 is in development and will primarily focus on addressing performance issues and bugs.
The developer made a post today to confirm the upcoming update, but no specific release date has been provided. However, there is information available on what players can expect when the patch does arrive.
One of the main improvements in Cyberpunk 2077 with patch 2.01 will be related to performance. This includes enhancements for both PC and current-gen consoles, with a particular focus on the recently added Dogtown district from the Phantom Liberty expansion. Hopefully, these improvements will resolve any significant FPS drops.
Additionally, the patch will fix the PS5 corrupted saves bug by increasing the maximum save file size limit. It’s important to note that this fix will not recover saves that were corrupted before the update. If players still encounter the same issue after installing the patch, CD Projekt Red advises manually saving until version 2.01 is available.
Other notable changes include addressing buggy quests such as The Gig, The Heist, and Automatic Love. Furthermore, the vehicle radio music will receive a sound boost to ensure it is audible amid the background noise of Night City.
What to Expect in Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.01:
- The distorted effect caused by selecting a specific dialogue option when talking to Johnny at the end of Automatic Love will no longer persist on the screen.
- V will no longer die in The Heist by falling through the elevator when riding to the 42nd floor with low FPS.
- Fixed an issue where the UI could show controller inputs when playing with keyboard and mouse.
- Made it possible to properly switch to arms cyberware by cycling through weapons.
- Gig: Breaking News will be properly triggered after approaching the quest area.
- Vehicle radio volume will be adjusted so it’s not too quiet when compared to other sounds in the game.
- Addressed the issue of corrupted saves on PlayStation by increasing the maximum save file size limit. Note: this won’t fix the saves corrupted before the update. If you’re experiencing the issue, keep a working save (e.g. resave it as manual save) till 2.01 arrives.
- Performance improvements for both PC and consoles, especially in the Dogtown area.
CD Projekt Red mentions that these are just the key highlights of patch 2.01 and promises to reveal more details soon.
