Unleashing the Chaos

This direct-to-video adventure from Warner Bros. Animation is a whirlwind of excitement and wackiness. The Mystery Inc. gang finds themselves in Metropolis, where supervillains including Solomon Grundy, Joker, Harley Quinn, Zod, and Brainiac are wreaking havoc. It’s a criminal onslaught that Shaggy and his friends are ill-equipped to handle. However, that doesn’t stop them from trying their best, even if it means Scooby wielding a Green Lantern ring against Giganta. As expected, hilarious chaos ensues.

A Hall in Peril

The Justice League has mysteriously vanished, leaving the Hall of Justice in disrepair. With Lex Luthor planning to demolish the historic landmark, Mystery Inc. is called to investigate strange occurrences and a malevolent ghost haunting the premises. But as they uncover clues, more questions arise: Who is behind the League’s disappearance? Can the gang stop Lex Luthor’s destructive plan?

Eccentricities and Laughs

This crossover indulges fans with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments and unexpected encounters. From Lois Lane’s amusing inability to recognize Velma without her glasses to Shaggy’s hilarious use of Green Arrow’s trick arrows, there’s something for everyone. Director Cecilia Aranovich Hamilton keeps the pace light and enjoyable, ensuring that the story never loses its playful spirit.

“The script throws in its share of expected groaners, like Lois Lane failing to recognize Velma without her glasses.” – IGN

A Missed Opportunity

While this collaboration has its share of delightful moments, it does have a few missed opportunities. Fred and Daphne’s storyline involving Daily Planet photographer Jimmy Olsen lacks impact due to Jimmy’s absence in the majority of the film. Nevertheless, the film’s screenplay by T.K. O’Brian manages to give Fred’s emotional vulnerability a meaningful purpose.

Overall, Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too! is a fun-filled celebration of both Scooby-Doo and the DC universe. While the Hanna-Barbera characters may have lost some of their eccentricities over the years, this crossover still delivers an enjoyable and reverent experience for fans of all ages. Don’t miss the chance to witness this ambitious, silly adventure that unites these iconic worlds.
